The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has urged clearing agents to renew their licences for the year 2011 by October 31, 2010.This licence renewal is done in terms of Section 33 of the Customs and Excise (General) Regulations, 2001 as read with Section 216A (7) of the Customs and Excise Act [Chapter 23:02].

Clearing agents use a special form - Form No. 64 - to register with ZIMRA and this form is downloadable from this website and can be obtained from ZIMRA offices nationwide.

Clearing agents play a pivotal role in the clearance of goods on importation and exportation. Importers and exporters normally engage the services of professional and registered clearing agents because of the complexities of the valuation system and the Harmonised Tariff System.
