The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) was awarded the second runner up prize under State Enterprises and Parastatals Category at the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe (ICSAZ) Excellence in Corporate Governance Awards (ECGA) on 29 November 2017 at The Rainbow Towers Hotel in Harare.


The award was in recognition of ZIMRA’s continued efforts in disclosing information to the public through its revenue performance reports and  annual reports, with a Board that represent good corporate governance practices in Zimbabwe, evidenced by its commitment to wipe away corruption from the organisation.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, the Guest Speaker - Executive Vice President of the Afreximbank, Mr Denys Denya urged corporates in Zimbabwe to adhere to good corporate governance practice if the country is to attract investors.

ECGA awards were introduced by ICSAZ in 2013 and were presented under three categories - Zimbabwe Stock Exchange listed companies, Banking Institutions and State Enterprises and Parastatals.

Under State Enterprises and Parastatals, Deposit Protection Corporation won the first prize, ZESA Holdings becoming the first runner up and ZIMRA second runner up.
